Hamburg's National Park is part of the Wadden Sea

At its 35th meeting in Paris the UNESCO World Heritage Committee decided to extend the existing German-Dutch World Heritage area "Wadden Sea" to include Hamburg's National Park. [ more]

Germany signs UN Protocol against Biopiracy

On 23 June 2011 Germany signed the Nagoya Protocol in New York. The Protocol supplements the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). For Germany this is the first important step towards implementing this new instrument of international law. [ more]
